Art prints coming soon![]() |
I was going to wait until I had the t-shirt and merch shop up and running before I started working on another type of product to offer, but I changed my mind. I’ve working on putting together an art print shop to sell prints of my digital paintings, and I’m hoping to get it ready to go live at the same time as my t-shirt designs. I’m between using Fine Art America and ArtPal. I’ve seen some artists use multiple platforms to sell prints, so I might keep both, but I think I’d rather have one service that I use as my main print provider. On the other hand, both Fine Art America and ArtPal let buyers browse and discover art from artists, so maybe it would be beneficial to be active on multiple platforms for greater discoverability.
Spreadshop does have some art print options and I set up a few poster prints on there, but I’m not happy with the limited options there, so I want to use a separate printer that specializes in art prints.
On the other hand, Fine Art America offer many more print options. They also have t-shirts and other merch, which I can’t figure out how to remove from my design listings. I’d rather keep my paintings as actual art pieces rather than just slapping them on every commercial product known to man. The random item options feels like they cheapen the art to me. (Though I guess I’d take the sale if anyone actually wants a beach towel or phone case of my work for some reason…)
ArtPal looks cool because they offer prints on demand, but also let you sell physical art that you ship yourself. This might be a good alternative to Etsy once I get that segment of my art business ready to go live.
I’m also looking into Printful to use down the line if I do go the Etsy route to offer some prints and apparel in that shop as well.
